about

Truly one of the more enigmatically unique and forward-thinking artists you are likely to hear within the world of electronic music, NIGEN returns at the close of 2018 with the debut full-length album "The Monolith Death Trap". Drawing from cutting-edge dance music genres such as trap and hardstyle as much as from the darkest, harshest depths of industrial terror, it's the deft execution of this crossover that will leave you hooked. Ominous bells and horrorscape choirs underlay sizzling synth stabs as demonically processed vocals crackle from another dimension over the heavy beats and varied tempos of this release. Invoking sounds similar to PSYCLON NINE and HOCICO before slamming into a drop worthy of SNAILS and then breaking down into the kind of guitar riffage MICK GORDON would drag through hell, NIGEN keeps the sonic elements coherent with a pervasively heavy atmosphere of gothic proportions.

Behind the music is Dutch musician/producer Niels Doe, who has been building up a name as an artist through official remixes for artists including SUICIDE COMMANDO and SHIV-R, as well as having released his debut EP "Monachopsis" on Blind Mice Productions in 2016. "The Monolith Death Trap" is of a scale as epic as the soundscapes it contains, with 16 original tracks and clocking in at 65mins. Look for it in December 2018 on all digital outlets.
